How I Got Here

My passion for Real Estate & Interior Design started at the young age of 10 when I became obsessed with the show, Trading Spaces. Vern Yip and Genevieve Gordor (IYKYK) were to me what Michael Jordon was for the basketball fanatic. From there, I became a HGTV junkie and would practice design by begging my parents to let me paint my room and buy me new bedding.

Fast forward to adulthood, my husband and I purchased our first home in 2014 and that’s when I really started honing in on my design skills and documenting it along the way. Friends and family would constantly seek out my advice for their own homes. After moving several times and completing a couple full home renovations, I realized this was more than just a hobby for me. In late 2020, I decided to turn my passion into a side-hustle and created my Interior Design Instagram account and started doing client designs. Since then, I have been steadily growing my business while maintaining a full-time corporate-ladder-climbing career at a Fortune 50 company. It is not easy trying to “do it all” but I would not be here today if it was not for all of your support, so thank YOU.

Behind the Brand

In 2023, I rebranded from Metz Home Design to Mary Metz Living….Why? After having my first child, I realized my life, my brand and what I wanted to stand for was more than just ‘home design’. Mary Metz Living is about creating a life you love to live. It is exactly what it is - LIVING life. Some may consider it a lifestyle brand, some may consider it an interior design brand. Regardless of whatever category you want to put me in, I fundamentally believe that a home is just house if you cannot enjoy living in it. SO, that is why I am here - to help you create a space that you will love to LIVE in.
